City stripes fields for football


In April, the City completed work on the large fields at Cauley Creek and Shakerag parks to install temporary football field striping. The football field striping coincided with the free football training sessions which occurred at the parks from late April to mid-May.


The City works with partners and area sports organizations to offer a variety of enriching recreational programs for all ages and abilities. Visit the City website to sign up for a program, join a team, or participate in an activity!

Council approves 2024 neighborhood, main roads repaving program


Beginning this month, the Johns Creek Public Works Department launches its 10th year of repaving the City’s neighborhood streets.

Johns Creek welcomes new Economic Development Director


The City of Johns Creek hired Kim Allonce to serve as Economic Development Director, responsible for overseeing the City's economic development activities, including business retention, entrepreneurship, and community placemaking.

Construction Project Progress

Medlock Bridge Road improvements with Bell Road, Abbotts Bridge Road, and Skyway Drive


Crews reconfigured traffic signals at Abbotts Bridge Road and Skyway Drive. Permanent signage installation is underway. Temporary striping will be installed and the third lane traffic section signals are operational.

Autrey Mil Nature Preserve hiking trail


Crews have cut in all of the natural surface hiking trails, and have completed two of the four foot bridges. Two small boardwalks will be competed in the next few weeks and trail signage will be installed in June.

Sargent Road at Ashwick Place roundabout


Silt fence and construction signs have been installed around the project area, and utility crews have begun relocation activities. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures while utilities are being relocated. Please use caution in the area. Construction of the roundabout will begin this summer.

Buice Road Sidewalk


All underground drainage has been completed and the sidewalk and catch basin concrete was poured. Crews are finishing final grading, installing sod, and completing a small portion of asphalt paving.

At its April meeting, City Council:


  • Announced Kimberly Greer as Mayor Bradberry's nomination for the City Manager position
  • Introduced Kim Allonce, the City's new Economic Development Director
  • Approved the submittal of the Buice Road Trail Project for Local Maintenance Improvement Grant funds
  • Authorized agreement with Sawnee EMC to attach traffic fiber infrastructure to utility poles
  • Recognized Mayor's Art Competition winners
  • Presented Life Saving Awards to three Johns Creek Police officers
  • Approved an ordinance amending the zoning map for 5825 Abbotts Bridge Road to allow for a single-family detached residential subdivision
  • Adopted the Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan
  • Approved a resolution regarding the acquisition of a portion of 11555 Medlock Bridge Road for Creekside Park
  • Amended the FY2024 Budget for the Chattahoochee Greenway and Abbotts Bridge Road projects
  • Approved an intergovernmental agreement with Fulton County for various transportation projects
  • Approved a construction contract and task order for the Town Center Stream Restoration and Trail project
  • Approved an amendment to the memorandum of understanding with Forsyth (JCAF) Narcotics Task Force
  • Approved a contract for janitorial services
  • Approved a construction contact and task order for Rogers Bridge and Bell Road trails
  • Approved an intergovernmental agreement with Fulton County and accepted funds for water and sewer relocations for Rogers Bridge and Bell Road trails
  • Remanded the public hearing and consideration of RZ-24-0002 (6350 Hospital Parkway) from Mix Used District to Townhome Residential District to the Sept. 10 Planning Commission meeting

Cars for Causes benefits local non-profit organizations


Hot rods, muscle cars, and sports cars lined the parking lot of City Hall for the Rotary Club of Johns Creek - North Fulton's Cars for Causes car show last Saturday.


The annual event benefits various Johns Creek-based non-profit organizations, such as Autrey Mill Nature Preserve, Johns Creek Arts Center, and the Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation. Thanks to all who attended!

Johns Creek represented at 2024 BIO International Convention


In June, City of Johns Creek Economic Development Director Kim Allonce is attending the 2024 BIO International Convention, an annual event which gathers the world's top companies and innovators in the fields of biotechnology and life sciences. 

 

The City’s presence at the conference, which is being held in San Diego, CA, helps enhance Johns Creek’s position as a hub for health, wellness, and innovation. Johns Creek is home to more than 700 healthcare and life sciences companies and the conference was an opportunity to showcase the variety innovative ongoing projects and new opportunities that the city has to offer.
