School-Based Wellness Center Associate Mental Health Counselor

 

YFS is seeking full-time Post Graduate Associate Mental Health Counselors to provide school-based mental health services located at Wellness Centers in Fremont High and Middle Schools for the current 2023-2024 academic school year now through May 31, 2024. This position works four days a week at school sites and receives clinical training and supervision one day a week. Counselors report to and receive clinical supervision from a YFS Clinical Supervisor. Review the updated brochure for complete details.

Accounting Specialist I Billing Unit


Under direct supervision of the Management Analyst II, the Human Services Billing Unit Accounting Specialist I will work as part of a billing team and also across the various department divisions. This position is responsible for assisting in the billing process of our MediCal programs through the use of our new electronic health record system and other county, state, and funder-based billing systems. As a Mental Health Counselor in the Human Services Department, incumbents will provide a full range of culturally responsive intake assessments, individual, family, and group counseling, and crisis intervention services to enhance the mental health of those in need. Crisis Intervention Specialists (Mental Health Response and Homeless Response/Outreach)


Currently, two positions are available within the Human Services Department, working as members of the City’s Mobile Evaluation Team (MET). The two positions will be cross-trained and work collaboratively with each other to provide complementary services to the community. Each position will have a different primary focus. Both positions will be supervised by the FRC Clinical Supervisor, who, with the MET Sergeant, will structure training and team-building opportunities for both Crisis Intervention Specialists.

Church sites have opened their lots overnight and provide fellowship through a welcoming space, hot meals, clean portable bathrooms, and friendly volunteers. No RVs are permitted at this time.

Assistance for Small, Low-Income Landlords


A-1 Community Housing Services in partnership with Alameda County has launched the Alameda County Foreclosure Prevention Program for Small, Low-Income Landlords ( FPP). FPP will provide financial assistance to eligible small, low-income property owners, who are at risk of foreclosure or are in foreclosure, because of nonpayment of rents during the COVID-19 pandemic and during the period of the Alameda County Eviction Moratorium. Alameda County Small, Low-Income Property Owners can apply for up to $75,000 in assistance.

Our Homeless Services team hosts drop-in hours as a South County Housing Resource Center in the Fremont Family Resource Center. This is an opportunity for people seeking housing problem-solving support, shelter assessments, referrals, or housing assessments.

Affordable Housing in Fremont



In the next few years, more affordable housing is planned for Fremont. Nearly 800 new affordable rental units will become available for low-income households. To learn more, visit the City’s Upcoming Units webpage.


In addition, through the City’s First Time Homebuyer Program, Below Market Price (BMP) homes located in Fremont will continue to be offered for sale as they become available. To learn more and view available homes, visit the City’s BMP webpage.

Opioid Overdose Responder and

Naloxone Virtual Training


Alameda Healthcare for the Homeless is providing one-hour virtual Opioid Overdose Responder and Naloxone training to those who work or reside in Alameda County. There are several dates and times available.


Instructions to pick up a Naloxone kit will be provided after you have received the training.

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA provides financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.

Affordable Home Renovations


Renew Alameda County helps homeowners make renovations necessary to stay, grow, and thrive in their homes. Renew AC can make home improvement plans come to life - without breaking the bank. Renew AC provides 1% interest loans from $15,000 to $150,000 to qualified homeowners. Simple interest is accrued annually, with total interest never to exceed 50% of the amount borrowed, and payments are deferred until the home is sold. Renew AC is for low-income homeowners who live in Alameda County.
