CITY DEPARTMENTS
Department of Public Works
Two, double-sided bulletin boards have been mounted; the first was installed at the entrance to the College Park Woods Neighborhood Park (9119 St. Andrews Place), and the second at Cherry Hill Neighborhood Park (4605 Kiernan Road) where it intersects with Park Drive.

Utility work along the Trolley Trail in the Berwyn and Lakeland neighborhoods is planned for the coming month. The starting date of this project has not been finalized; it will include the installation of a new overhead cable above the trail. This work will require the closure of the trail due to the quantity of equipment needed to install the new cable. The new cable will run from Greenbelt Rd to Berwyn House Rd. More information regarding this project will be released when details become available.

Backyard Composting Bins are still available to purchase for only $20 for City residents and $40 for non-residents. Contact the Department for more information.

Mosquito Control
  • The City of College Park cooperates with the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) to identify and control mosquito populations. Larviciding treatments are made by MDA personnel to known areas of standing water to control mosquito larva that will prevent development into adult mosquitoes. Spraying to control adult mosquitoes will continue through September. Wednesday night is the designated day when spraying for adult mosquitoes may occur in College Park. MDA doesn’t spray individual properties; they treat neighborhoods that meet certain thresholds.
  • MDA has initiated a new mosquito complaint procedure; click here to provide your information.
