CHINO, CA (May 30, 2024) -- As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, the City of Chino would like to highlight the numerous counseling services that have contributed to the well-being of Chino residents for over 30 years.
Chino Human Services, part of the Community Services, Parks & Recreation Department, stands ready to provide counseling, prevention education, intervention programs, and referral services. Last year alone, nearly 6,000 people found support through Chino Human Services, a number that continues to grow. With over 30 dedicated counselors, we are here to assist you, ensuring that help is always within reach.
Chino Human Services understands that each individual’s journey is unique. That’s why we offer diverse counseling programs tailored to the needs of residents of all ages and backgrounds who are ready to receive assistance.
Our Family Counseling Program provides counseling services to youth, teens, adults, couples, and families seeking assistance in conflict resolution, communication improvement, parenting issues, and more. Services are $10 for Chino residents and $30 for non-residents.
Agency Counseling is provided to residents of all ages and backgrounds to offer assistance through any stage in life. Services are $10 for Chino residents and $30 for non-residents. Select Chino residents can qualify for free counseling based on income eligibility. Additional group counseling sessions can be found on the Chino Human Services website.
School-based counseling is provided to all Chino Valley Unified School District students. The Youth Counseling Program serves 22 elementary schools across the Chino Valley and assists students experiencing family difficulties, low self-esteem, social adjustment problems, and/or behavioral difficulties. The Teen Counseling Program provides the same services to middle school and high school students. School-site counseling is free to all CVUSD students and takes place throughout the school year.
Batterer’s Treatment and Anger Management classes and Court-Ordered Domestic Violence classes are offered to men on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. and women on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.
