CHINO, CA (August 12, 2024) -- The City of Chino is inviting the community to participate in evaluating its Local Hazard Mitigation Plan through a series of free workshops on Monday, August 19, and Tuesday, August 20.
Local Hazard Mitigation Plans are guidelines that serve as roadmaps for communities like Chino to reduce adverse impacts from natural and human-caused disasters or hazards. Chino’s Plan will outline actions and steps that the City can take to reduce negative impacts on residents, businesses, and the community at large.
The community is invited to hear about Chino’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan and provide input to the City about what should be included. Participants will also take part in a survey that will provide insight into what hazards the community is concerned about in the Chino Valley. Residents can also participate in raffles to win free emergency preparedness kits.
The meetings will take place on:
- Monday, August 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Chino Senior Center, 13170 Central Avenue.
- Monday, August 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Chino Police Department, 5450 Guardian Way.
- Tuesday, August 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Preserve Community Center, 15800 Main Street.
