Alhambra Partners With Herald Christian Health Center To Offer COVID Vaccinations
For Alhambra Residents

The City of Alhambra is partnering with the Herald Christian Health Center (HCHC) to offer COVID-19 vaccinations for Alhambra residents on two separate days: Monday, March 22 and Friday, March 26. The vaccinations for March 22 will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse, on 320 South Mission Drive in San Gabriel. The vaccinations for March 26 will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Rosemead Community Recreation Center and Park, 3936 Muscatel Avenue in Rosemead.
“Through this partnership with HCHC, we’ll be able to help our vulnerable community members get the vaccination they desperately need,” said Mayor Sasha Renée Pérez. “It will make a big difference for Alhambra residents and we are grateful for the community partnership.”
 
HCHC will be administering 600 doses of the Moderna vaccine for Alhambra residents that are in Phase 1A or 1B, Tier 1 of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health vaccine distribution guidelines. These include:
  • Healthcare workers
  • Staff and residents of skilled nursing or long-term care facilities
  • LA County residents 65 and older
  • Education and Childcare workers
  • Emergency Services workers
  • Food and agriculture workers
  • People with serious health conditions or disabilities
  • Janitorial, custodial, and maintenance services workers
  • And Transportation and logistics workers
 
To check your eligibility, visit LA County’s website. The vaccinations are first come, first served. Appointments are required. Alhambra residents must fill out a COVID-19 Registration form, located on the City’s website at https://www.cityofalhambra.org/resources/covid-vaccination.
Once they submit the form, City staff will contact them to confirm their appointment.
Herald Christian Health Center will schedule second dose appointments for residents after their vaccines have been administered.
COVID-19 Vaccination Eligibility Expands
Effective March 15, 2021, those with high-risk medical conditions and disabilities became eligible to get vaccinated in LA County. In addition to making an appointment with the Herald Christian Health Center, appointments are available through various sites run by the County and State. Residents with disabilities or without computer access can call the County at 833-540-0473 between 8:00 am and 8:30 pm, 7 days a week for help with appointments.
State Launches Rent Relief Program

The State has announced the launch of a CA COVID-19 Rent Relief Program, intended to help income-eligible households pay rent and utilities, both for arrears and future payment. Supported by the Federal Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, the CA COVID-19 Rent Relief provides financial assistance to income-qualified tenants experiencing housing instability and provides rent reimbursement to landlords for unpaid rent accrued between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021.

LA County Moves Into Red Tier

LA County moved into the Red Tier effective March 15, 2021. The County's Health Department has allowed the reopening of some sectors with safety protocols in place.
