Old Spanish Days Celebrates 100 Years

"Viva El Centenario" or "Long Live the Centennial" is the official theme for this year's City-sponsored Fiesta celebration, which takes place from Wednesday, July 31 to Sunday, August 4. Traditional Fiesta events will return this year, alongside numerous community celebrations organized by collaborative partners, sponsors, and local families, all marking the unique milestone. The Children’s Fiesta Parade, "El Desfile de los Niños", a cherished family-friendly event organized by the City Parks and Recreation Department, will be held on Saturday, August 3, on Cabrillo Boulevard.

Objective Design and Development Standards for Review 


On August 8, the Planning Commission will receive staff’s presentation and consider a recommendation to City Council on adoption of the Title 25 Objective Design and Development Standards (ODDS) and related amendments to the Title 30 Zoning Ordinance. The final draft ODDS is currently available for review. Planning Commission agenda and staff report will be posted on August 1, one week prior to the hearing.

Parma Park Opening Celebration and Hike


The Parks and Recreation Department will host a celebration of the completion of the Parma Park Sustainable Trails Project this Thursday, July 25. The public is invited to learn about the details of the recently completed project before a gentle, guided half-mile walk through the restoration site. Afterward, a 2.5-mile hike will lead attendees through some of the park’s newest trails. Attendees should bring comfortable shoes, water, and sun protection.
