City of Santa Barbara Cultural Arts Grants Now Open!

As part of its ongoing commitment to a vibrant, sustainable local cultural sector and arts access for all, the City is investing nearly $250,000 into the community through its annual Cultural Arts Grants. Santa Barbara-based organizations are invited to apply for any one of the three grant programs: Community Arts, Organizational Development, and Community Events and Festivals. The programs are intended to provide arts access for underserved communities, support diverse nonprofits, and catalyze events and festivals that enhance local economic and community vitality.

Parma Park Unveils Seven Miles of New Trails and Restored Native Habitats


Seven miles of trail and four acres of native habitat restoration are ready for exploration in one of Santa Barbara’s largest parks. Completion of the Parma Park Sustainable Trails Project gives the community access to new areas of the park, allowing trail users to experience many of the region's native habitats in a single visit. New trails include the Historic Olive Grove loop, which winds through heritage trees from the former Parma Ranch olive orchard, and the Plateau Trail, a gentle loop designed for all abilities through a restoration site of native grassland, wildflowers, and scrubland.

On Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. join the City of Santa Barbara Clean Community Division at the intersection of Ortega & Salsipuedes and help beautify the neighborhood! All cleanup supplies will be provided. This is part of a monthly series of neighborhood cleanups hosted by the Clean Community Division.

Cabrillo and Los Patos Roundabout Project:

Next Construction Phase Begins


The next phase of the Cabrillo Boulevard Roundabout Project will commence on Thursday, July 25, 2024. During this phase, traffic will shift back to Cabrillo Boulevard, and vehicles will navigate the new Roundabout in a temporary pattern. The anticipated construction completion date is early winter 2025.
