Guava Pipe Replacement
Out with the old and in with the new. Our Water Division team installed a new 1-inch copper line at 4556 Guava Avenue. Copper pipes are more resistant to water corrosion and are more durable and reliable than other types of pipes and recommend new replacement to follow current City standards.

CERT Graduation!
On Saturday June 22nd, 45 community members (including 15 that reside in Seal Beach) graduated from the annual West County CERT Academy. West County CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where people will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference. Through CERT Academy training, neighbors can manage utilities and put out small fires; treat the three killers by opening airways, controlling bleeding, and helping to treat shock; provide basic medical aid; search for and rescue victims safely; and organize themselves and spontaneous volunteers to be effective.

The Briefing Room
- Captain Nick Nicholas graciously hosted an exclusive tour of the police station for the esteemed corporate sponsors of the Police League Awards breakfast. During this insightful tour, sponsors were given a behind-the-scenes look at the daily operations of the Seal Beach Police Department. Captain Nicholas provided an engaging and informative overview of the department's various units and facilities, highlighting the critical role that community support and partnerships play in enhancing public safety. The sponsors had the opportunity to meet with officers, explore different areas of the station, and gain a deeper understanding of the department's commitment to serving and protecting the community.
- The Seal Beach Police Department recently organized a series of highly successful pop-up dog licensing events across the community. These events, which aimed to make dog licensing more convenient and ensure compliance with local regulations, were met with enthusiastic participation from pet owners. The presence of our dedicated Animal Control Officers (ACOs) not only facilitated the licensing process but also provided a platform for residents to seek advice on dog ownership and related responsibilities. The overwhelmingly positive response from the community underscores the significant impact of such initiatives in promoting responsible pet ownership and fostering a harmonious environment for both residents and their furry companions. WAGS participated and offered free microchipping for residents.
- Seal Beach Officers attended the California Highway Patrol meeting related to reducing the number of traffic collisions across Orange County. This meeting is funded by the Office of Traffic and Safety (OTS) and allows for officers to meet quarterly to discuss traffic concerns and schedule mutual aid enforcement projects.
- On June 30th, the Seal Beach Police Department celebrated a special milestone— Police Facility Dog Yosa's 6th birthday. Yosa, an invaluable department member, received warm birthday wishes from officers, staff, and the community. Known for her calming presence and therapeutic contributions, Yosa has touched many lives and brought comfort to those in need. Her birthday was marked by a small celebration within the department, acknowledging her dedicated service and the joy she brings to the workplace. Happy Birthday, Yosa! Here's to many more years of wagging tails and making a difference.
