COUNCIL MEETING

Call for “Expressions of Interest” (EOI) for James Whyte Arena

For any private or public group wishing to rent or lease some or all the available space (22,500 sf.) at James Whyte Arena.


The City prefers a recreational group who can provide recreational, cultural, or special interest programming aimed at enhancing the health, lifestyle and quality of life for residents of all ages.

Tours will be offered of this facility to interested parties on the following date: Wednesday, May 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Niagara Health will be hosting a public community engagement meeting in Thorold on May 30 to provide information and updates on plans for a three-site hospital system while seeking community input to help shape the future of healthcare in Niagara.


Learn about the modern, three-site hospital system being proposed for the Niagara Region on May 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Thorold Seniors Centre.

NPCA celebrates 65 years at their new headquarters in Thorold

Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) welcomed members of the community, local dignitaries, board members, staff and partners to its 65th anniversary celebration and grand opening of the new headquarters, now located at 3350 Merrittville Highway in Thorold.

Strive Niagara opens their doors to families in Thorold

Celebrating the Spectrum



On April 1, it was World Autism Awareness Day. Members of Council and City staff along with representatives from Bethesda and Autism, Ontario wore blue and hosted a flag raising ceremony to show support and bring awareness to Autism. City Hall was also illuminated in blue. By celebrating World Autism Day, we brought to light the systemic barriers that must be removed to create a more supportive and inclusive Ontario.

Lew's Pizza + Wings & Things

On April 12, Mayor Terry Ugulini, Councillors Mike De Divitiis, Tim O'Hare, Ken Sentance, and Regional Councillor Tim Whalen joined in on the official grand opening of Lew's Pizza + Wings & Things in downtown Thorold with certificate presentations.

On April 12, Mayor Terry Ugulini, Councillors Mike De Divitiis, Tim O'Hare, Ken Sentance, Regional Councillor Tim Whalen, MPP Jeff Burch, and the BIA Chair Serge Carpino celebrated the official grand opening of Chantal A. McCollum Law Professional Corporation with a ribbon cutting.

Niagara's Pre-Hung Doors celebrates 55 years of business

On April 19, Mayor Terry Ugulini, CAO Manoj Dilwaria, City and Regional Councillor, the Beeke family and staff celebrated 55 years of business in Thorold. Mayor Marvin Junkin and Councillor Wayne Olson from the Town of Pelham were also in attendance to congratulate the Beeke family.

The City has decided to combine the Thorold Community Market and the Thorold BIA Car Show every Wednesday for the enjoyment of residents of all ages in our community. Earth Day Event

The Thorold Public Library is collecting solar eclipse glasses to recycle via Astronomers Without Borders. Please drop them off at their front desk. Glasses will be used by individuals around the world for the next eclipse.
