Celebrate with Us at Pines Day!

Join us in celebration of Pines Day – the City of Pembroke Pines 64th Birthday – on Saturday, April 27 from 4 pm to 8 pm. This year’s theme, “Largest Outdoor Arcade,” transforms the Plaza at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way, into the “Ultimate Gamer’s Birthday Bash - Level 64.” All ages can enjoy free access to an open-air roller rink and oversized arcade games like Skee-Ball, Air Hockey, and Claw Machines. There will also be bounce houses, slides, and the chance to compete in the Royal Court Pageant for Pembroke Pines residents ages 3-16. See pageant info below.


The fun day also includes the Kids Konnection, a “Kid’s Friendly Business Expo,” which offers an opportunity to connect families with over 25 businesses in the South Florida area, delicious treats from Food Truck Row and performances by local chorus and dance teams on the Birthday Stage. There's also the unveiling of 1,000 decorated cupcakes at 4:30 pm. In addition, free popcorn, cotton candy and face painting will be available all day, strolling characters add to picture-perfect opportunities, and giveaways will be offered throughout the day. Visitors can meet the “Mushroom Kingdom Friends” for Photo Opportunities --The Two Famous Plumbers, the Dragon King and Mushroom Princess will host a Meet and Greet from 5-6:30 p.m. on the Plaza. For more info, visit  www.ppines.com/specialevents.  

Water Safety Day

The City of Pembroke Pines Recreation, Fire and Police Departments will be hosting a special Water Safety Day on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10 am to Noon at the Academic Village Pool, located at 17191 Sheridan Street. Everyone is invited to “Be Cool in the Pool” – a day filled with free water related activities, giveaways, a live DJ and food. There will also be demonstrations on how to be safe in the water and many other important safety tips, as well as some special guests for Star Wars fans who are aware it’s also “May the Fourth Be With You” day. Free for all ages. Participants are asked to bring their own swimwear and towels. For more information, please call 954-392-2116.

Commission Meeting

Beginning at 6:30 pm tonight, April 17, the City of Pembroke Pines Commission Meeting will be held in Commission Chambers, located at 601 City Center Way. The meeting can be viewed in person, and via Channel 78 on Comcast, the city website at www.ppines.com or the city's YouTube channel.

FL Prepaid Scholarship Spring Raffle

Parents and guardians are invited to take a chance to win a complete four-year scholarship to the Florida university of choice, which covers tuition, fees and more for up to an incredible 120 credit hours by entering the FL Prepaid Scholarship Spring Raffle. It is taking place now through May 28. Registration Open for Summer Camps

Join the City of Pembroke Pines this Summer for a variety of fun summer camps for children ages 6 and up. The sessions for the Art & Drama Camp are now full, however, there is also a Summer Soccer Camp, and Tennis Camp. Camp dates are June 17 through August 9. To register, please visit (Civic Rec Link). Registration is also now open for the Early Learning Development Center Summer Camps -- these are held at the West and Central Campuses. For information on the West Campus Summer Camp, please call 954-443-4816 and for Central Campus, please call 954-322-3350.
