Oaths of Office/Commission Meeting

Beginning at 6 pm tonight, April 3, the Oath of Office/Swearing In Ceremony will take place in Commission Chambers, located at 601 City Center Way. The Oath of Office will be administered to Angelo Castillo for the Mayor City-Wide Seat; Jay D. Schwartz for the District 2 Commission Seat; and Maria Rodriguez for the District 3 Commission Seat. A City of Pembroke Pines Commission Meeting will then follow after a brief adjournment for refreshments.

The meeting can be viewed in person, and via two videos on Channel 78 on Comcast, the city website at www.ppines.com or the city's YouTube channel.

Facility Contract Services (FCS) is joining the City of Pembroke Pines in hosting this Job Fair on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 4 pm to 8 pm for Civilian/Non-Sworn Police Department Positions. Positions not only include those listed above, but also Clerical Specialists, Records Specialists, Grant & Research Manager, Software Support, Fleet Coordinator, Help Desk Technician, Logistics Coordinator, etc. Be sure to bring your resumes.

Tea Time!

Don’t miss out on the annual Spring Tea held at the Carl Shechter Southwest Focal Point Community Center on Wednesday, April 17 from 2 pm to 4 pm. This is a great time to meet new friends or gather with old friends to enjoy a lovely array of tea sandwiches, decadent desserts, and assorted afternoon teas. Registration is now Open! Join the City of Pembroke Pines this Summer for a variety of fun summer camps for children ages 6 and up. There will be an Art & Drama Camp, Soccer Camp, and Tennis Camp. Camp dates are June 17 through August 9. Registration is now open for Pembroke Pines residents and will open April 15 for non-residents. To register, please visit (Civic Rec Link). Registration is also now open for the Kids Summer Camp at the City of Pembroke Pines Early Development Center West Campus, located at 1600 SW 184 Ave, The camp is June 10-August 8, Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm with a minimum of five weeks required. There will be arts & crafts, water games, music and dance, and fun sports. The registration fee is $40, activity fee $275 and weekly fee $231. For more information, please call 954-443-4816.

Chlorination Preventative Maintenance -- The City of Pembroke Pines is continuing to perform a chlorination preventive maintenance procedure on our Water Distribution System. The procedure runs for two (2) weeks from March 25 until April 7, 2024. During this period, the City’s Drinking Water Distribution System will continue to meet ALL Federal and State water quality standards. For more info, please go to www.ppines.com.

Pooches in Pines -- There is still time to get your tickets to the Cocktails for Tails event for Pooches in Pines being held on Saturday, April 6 from 6 pm to 9 pm at The Frank Art Gallery, located at 601 City Center Way. Tickets are $75 online. This elegant night features silent auctions, hors d'oeuvres, a cigar roller, live music, cocktails, delicious desserts and more. Please visit www.poochesinpines.com for more information and to purchase tickets.
