Time to Spring Forward


This year, Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins at 2 am on Sunday, March 10, 2024. This is the time we (except for Hawaii and parts of Arizona) “spring forward” and set clocks ahead one hour.  


Family Bike Ride/Bike Rodeo


The City of Pembroke Pines Annual Family Bike Ride/Bike Rodeo is being held on March 9 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the West Pines Soccer Park, located at 350 SW 196 Ave. All ages are welcome. There will be fun bike related activities such as obstacle courses and safety tips. There will also be food trucks, music with a DJ, giveaways and more. The City of Pembroke Pines Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, March 19. The seats to be filled are: Mayor; District 2 Commissioner; and District 3 Commissioner. There are also changes made via the Broward Supervisor of Elections -- their SITE also provides precinct information.

The City of Pembroke Pines invites artists residing in the tri-county area (Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach counties) to participate in the 19th Annual Art Competition and win cash prizes! Commission Meeting

A City of Pembroke Pines Commission Meeting will be held tonight, March 6, 2024 beginning at 6:30 pm in City Chambers. The meeting can be viewed in person, via Channel 78 on Comcast, the city website at www.ppines.com or the city's YouTube channel.

Public Art Project-Request for Artist Qualifications


The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking an artist or artist team to design, fabricate, and install site-specific interactive artwork for attachment to an exterior wall at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 city Center Way. The artwork should be visually appealing and include an interactive component to actively engage the building's visitors. Submission Deadline: Thursday, April 18, 2024. Budget: $15,000. The project budget is all inclusive, including but not limited to artist fees, consultants, fabrication, storage, transportation, installation, permits and insurance provisions. Shortlisted artists must submit a detailed budget list. For more information, please email svillegas@ppines.com.  

Get into the spirit of St. Patrick's Day at a “Pot O’Gold Dinner Dance on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Dinner begins at 5:30 pm and reservations are required. The cost is $20 per person, cash only. The Dance starts at 6:30 pm. Relay for Life -- The City of Pembroke Pines and Miramar have joined together with the American Cancer Society for the 26th Annual Relay for Life Event being held on Friday, March 8, 2024. It will be held at the City of Pembroke Pines Charter High School Athletic Field located at 17189 Sheridan Street. For more information, please visit www.RelayforLife.org/PembrokePinesFL.  


Household Hazardous Waste -- A Household Hazardous Waste Disposal drop off will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 8 am to 2 pm at 13975 Pembroke Rd. RESIDENTS MUST BRING PROOF OF PEMBROKE PINES RESIDENCY TO USE DROP OFF SERVICES. Please see website for list of items that can and cannot be disposed of.


Studio 18 Art Complex --  Studio 18 Art Complex Open House is being held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11 am to 6 pm. All ages are welcome to join in a day of art and fun, workshops, lectures, artist demonstrations, and the opportunity to meet the Studio 18 resident artists to get an inside look at their studios.
