3rd & Plum Intersection Getting a Face Lift
During the course of the bridge project,
the intersection of 3rd and Plum will be transformed from a loud truck thoroughfare into a quieter, walkable spot. Some of the first fixes happen next week when the corners at Liberty's and the community parking lot will get accessible sidewalk ramps.
Traffic will be one lane on Monday only, then slow the rest of the week. Be patient - it will be worth the wait!

U.S. House Passes Nuclear Storage Bill
More than 40 dry-storage casks currently hold spent nuclear fuel at Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant.
On May 10th, the federal government came a step closer to following through on their promise to remove and dispose of that fuel when it passed the Nuclear Waste Policy Amendments Act in the U.S. House by a vote of 340-72. FAST FACTS: 121 communities in 39 states store spent nuclear fuel. Mayor Sean Dowse says, "This is a common-sense step to getting a storage solution that works for all of us." Next...on to the Senate.

Patrick Harris, Audio Visual Technician
We’ve been talking a lot about City Council lately, but here’s one aspect of the Council you may not have thought about. While everyone else is talking up front, Patrick Harris is working in back recording so anyone can watch from home. Patrick films and edits all kinds of City material for Channel 6, Facebook, YouTube, and more. If you’ve seen anything we’ve produced, you’ve seen Patrick’s hard work. Thanks, Patrick!
