Springfield Police Department Recognized as 2024 Community Policing in Action Photo Contest Winners
The Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) announces the winners of its tenth annual “Community Policing in Action” Photo Contest
We are thrilled to announce that the City of Springfield Police Department has been recognized as one of the distinguished winners of the 2024 Community Policing in Action Photo Contest. Organized by the Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office), this annual contest highlights law enforcement agencies that exemplify the principles of community policing through positive interactions with their communities.
This year's contest saw active participation from over 170 state, local, territorial, and tribal law enforcement agencies across the nation. Through a rigorous selection process, the Springfield Police Department's submission stood out, earning them a well-deserved place among the winners.
The winning photo (above), featuring Officer Lamar Moore and a participant in the SPD "Cops and Bobbers" fishing clinic program, will be showcased throughout the 2024 calendar year. The selected photographs will be featured on the COPS Office website, various social media accounts, and the COPS Office e-newsletter, The Community Policing Dispatch.
Congratulations to the Springfield Police Department for their commitment to community policing and for being a shining example of positive law enforcement engagement. This recognition not only reflects the dedication of the department but also highlights the collaborative efforts between law enforcement and the community they serve.
