This highly-utilized facility received renovations totaling $3 million to extend the recreation center's and therapeutic pool's life!" - Representative Cassandra Hernandez

El Paso Cooling Centers NOW OPEN!

The City of El Paso and Office of Emergency Management (OEM) are once again activating the community’s cooling centers!


They are open Monday - Saturday | 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Sunday | 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.

  • Valle Bajo Community Center, 7380 Alameda Ave (District 3)
  • Galatzan Recreation Center, 650 Wallenberg Dr.
  • Marty Robbins Recreation Center, 11600 Vista Del Sol Dr.

Enhanced Library Card Program

The El Paso Public Library is proud to announce the launch of their Enhanced Library Card Program in collaboration with City of El Paso Leaders, El Paso County Leaders, and Border Network for Human Rights.


The Enhanced Library Card (ELC) is a free full-service library card for all City and County of El Paso residents aged 18 and older. This card not only grants you access to our libraries but also serves as a supplementary form of identification at City and County offices, with the option for private organizations to register as program partners.


To get your ELC, make sure to bring proof of identification and residence within El Paso County to the following branch libraries:

  • Jose Cisneros Cielo Vista Branch,

1300 Hawkins Blvd. (District 3)

  • Irving Schwartz Branch,

1865 Dean Martin Dr.


  • Westside Branch,

Neighborhood Improvement Program:

New Deadline to Submit Applications!

The Neighborhood Improvement Plan (NIP) provides the opportunity for Recognized Neighborhood Associations and Civic Associations to request small-scale permanent physical improvement projects to enhance the quality of life in their neighborhoods. The intent is to facilitate an organized process for residents to have direct input on physical improvements in their neighborhood.
