CFE Receives $500,000 to Support its Lending Work Targeting Minority Entrepreneurs
CDFIs like us are creating a path to small business recovery.
City First Enterprises was recently selected as one of thirty recipients of Citi Foundation’s $15 million fund to support Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) across the country. For CFE, funds from this initiative will be crucial in expanding our lending work aimed at addressing growing funding gaps for minority-owned small businesses in the DC - Baltimore region.

The path to recovery calls for multi-stakeholder models of collaboration, a combination of public and private, corporate and nonprofit partnerships. This announcement represents an important step in that direction and reaffirms CFE’s commitment to leverage all available resources to drive a fair and equitable adaption to the post-Covid small business economy.
