A Word from the Canon

Saturday December 10th I spent most of the day preparing for my trip to Arizona. The Arizona trip would combine family vacation with some work.

The main event was the graduation of my niece Monique Hebert. Monique is receiving her Masters of Advanced Studies from Arizona State University.

We spent a few days in the Phoenix area and were tourists. However I had business at the Diocese of Arizona.

Sadly the meeting I was there for was cancelled due to sickness. Still I did visit the diocese and Trinity Cathedral. There I had the chance to catch up with the Rev. Sam Dessordi Leitea.

He is the priest at St James the Apostle in Tempe, AZ. We began making plans for me to visit there for an event next year.

When I returned to Seattle I had more to do than I anticipated. On Saturday I heard that John Weller, husband of our own Rev. Edie Weller was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with brain bleeds. I called Edie. John is in Providence Cherry Hill Medical Center. He is recovering. Please keep John, Edie and their families in your prayers.

Speaking of prayers, I'm pleased to announce that, with the arrival of Adrienne as our Program Coordinator, our multicultural ministries prayer list returns to the newsletter. If you have any concerns for which you would like the prayers of the Circles of Color, please contact either me or Adrienne and we will make sure those requests are posted and shared.

In love and service,

Carla+
