CINEMA GREEN
IN THE GARDEN
A Partnership Project Between ECOMB & the MB Botanical Garden

The documentary, directed by John McSwain for The Creators Project, explores the visual storytelling potential of coral reef organisms through film, multimedia and site-specific artwork. Additionally, "Coral City" also discusses how rising sea levels, combined with government dredging projects, are impacting not only corals but the entire fate of Miami.

There will be a pre-screening reception with appetizers provided by Green Bites. After the film, we will host a panel discussion with Colin Foord (Coral Morphologic), B (Southeast Regional Director, NOAA), Betsy Wheaton (Environmental Resources Manager, City of Miami Beach), Brian Flynn (DERM), and Julian Sprung (Coral Biologist). During their discussion, the panel will answer audience questions and primarily focus on the positive reef restoration potential coral nurseries have. They will also talk about how Miami could implement such programs to restore reefs and engage more eco-tourism to the city, and how climate change has affected corals.
