About 900 walkers came out to participate for the walk held at Lunken Playfield with several signing up early. When the walk started, the walkers enjoyed a relatively flat walk of 3.1 miles along the Lunken Bike Trail. After participants finished the walk, they had some healthy refreshments which included granola bars, bananas, and string cheese.
Overall, the walk was a success and participants are hoping that the club can do it next year. Thank you to our sponsors RoadId and Waltz Business Solutions for printing of the fliers. Thank you to Vitaminwater for coming out and providing calorie free drinks to the walkers and Erickson Academy of Irish Dance and It's Working Out for allowing us to use their lot for overflow parking.
A big thank you goes to our volunteers Terry Elliott, Jackie Ewing, Tom Glasscock,Rob Haddenhorst, Chris Higginbotham, Liz Hofacre, Kristi Kappes, Gina Meyers,Paul Lovelace, Bob Obermeyer, Bob Platt, Dave Reid, Llee Sivitz and Ryan Woolley. Their initiative and flexibility enabled the club to handle so many people.
