Dine Safely in a Private Dining Room

For many, a favorite Christmas tradition is a family dinner in a special setting. This year doesn't have to be any different. Latil's Landing offers private dining rooms for tables of 8 or more. This allows our guests to enjoy a special Christmas dinner without worrying about a crowded restaurant.

Pricing for this experience starts at $100 per person for dinner with the option to add wine pairings and any other upgrades. The button below directs you to a form to request a reservation and speak directly to the Chef.

Reservations are necessary and should be made 5 days in advance.

Executive Chef Jeremy Langlois personally works with each party to create the perfect menu for dinner.
The Year in Review

As 2020 comes to an end, we mustn’t forget how it began.

It was the year of new beginnings, and a new decade,
Where resolutions of travel, diet, and ambitions were made.

We toasted 2020 with parties and champagne,
Our newly made resolutions would not be in vain.

Then Winter ended and eased into Spring,
Only to find us all scurrying for toilet paper and things.

Simple necessities we take for granted every day,
Were now the most coveted items on Amazon and Ebay.

With our travel plans halted we researched online,
What would be our first vacation when it was finally time?

Houmas House heard you out there - we heard loud and clear,
We got in the kitchen and whipped up some cheer.

You welcomed our chef into your newsfeed each week,
And watched as we told you about our special techniques.

Then in the gardens, which are open and airy,
We planted new florals which accent the statuaries.

We are thankful for those who visited and kept our spirits high,
And look forward to more returning when traveling nearby.

So as we approach this new year, we don’t look back with regret,
We simply appreciate what we’ve learned and know what to do next.

Houmas House will always be open when you are ready to come back,
And we’ll pick up where we left off and start 2021 right on track.

Much Love,

Princess Maggie
Long Live Mr. Bingle!
Mr Bingle

To New Orleans outsiders, this puppet is merely a cute decoration hanging in the stairwell of the Houmas House Estate. But to locals across Louisiana and as far as Memphis, Tennessee, Mr. Bingle is a Christmas Icon bringing fond memories to the Baby Boomers and Gen X generations.
In the late 1940's Mr. Bingle was created as a mascot for the department store Maison Blanche, many now know as Dillard's. Every Christmas, Mr. Bingle and Santa Clause would tower over Canal Street at the entrance to the well-known store. Over time, the figure grew. And soon there was merchandise, commercials, and TV shows featuring Mr. Bingle.
After almost 40 years in New Orleans, the large Mr. Bingle that stood on Canal Street fell into disrepair and had to be stored away. Over time, the iconic figure has become a fond memory to New Orleanians, bringing them back to their childhood.
Today, Houmas House is proud to welcome Mr. Bingle each Christmas and let him once again be a local icon for Christmas! Currently, Mr. Bingle puppet is being displayed in the mansion stairwell during the Christmas season and until January 10. We are so grateful to the owner for allowing us to share this New Orleans tradition with the world.
We hope you will make a special trip to Houmas House to see Mr. Bingle and make him part of your Christmas tradition.
