Recipe: Cheesy Appetizer Balls

Great appetizer for New Year's Ever and other holiday gatherings!

Ingredients

8 slices Louie's Bacon

12 oz. Cream Cheese, softened

1 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese

1 tsp Garlic powder

1 tsp Paprika

Kosher Salt, to taste

Black Pepper, to taste

1/3 cup chopped Chives

1/3 cup finely chopped Pecans

18 Pretzel sticks

Directions

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large nonstick skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Drain the cooked bacon onto a paper-towel lined plate.
Finely chop the cooked bacon.
In a large bowl, stir the cream cheese, cheddar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper together.
Use a cookie scoop or spoon to form the mixture into 18 small balls and place them on the baking sheet.
Refrigerate the balls until firm, at least one hour (could be overnight).
In a shallow bowl, stir the cooked bacon, chives, and pecans together.
Roll the chilled balls in the bacon mixture and insert a pretzel stick into the center.
Allow the balls to sit to come to room temperature, about 15 minutes.
Serve.

Spice of the Month Kits - Thomas St. Angelo Public Library of Cumberland

December's spice is cardamom with a pork recipe and an easy cookie recipe. Kits are available starting the first of the month.
