Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
In part six of this teaching series, we will examine Paul’s exhortations to the Philippian church – and to you and me today. When we seek to live in the place where Divine Rest dominates, we’d do well to follow these instructions:

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplications, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6,7.

When the Word of God tells us to be “anxious for nothing”, we’re being told not to worry about anything. Anything! What are we supposed to do instead? Pray and supplicate with thanksgiving to God, believing He hears and answers our prayers (1 John 5:14,15). What is the result when we follow God’s instructions? The peace of God, which surpasses all our understanding, guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. In other words, we come to the place of Divine Rest! How do we reach this promised place? We worry about nothing, pray about everything, and in faith, give thanks for the answer.
People may think this is an impossible thing to do, but if that’s true, God is unjust in giving us this command. If He tells us not to worry about anything, then not only is it possible, its expected!  We’ve just become so influenced by how unbelievers and carnal Christians respond to life’s challenges we’re tempted to think that worry is a perfectly normal course of action. In God’s eyes, it isn’t! According to 1 Corinthians 4:4, Satan is the god of this world system. As such, he constantly works to bring us to the place of fear and worry over the future, because that opens a spiritual door that gives him full access into our lives to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). It has been said that worry is fear’s right hand. Whenever we yield to the devil’s lies in our mind, it makes a small problem appear to be much larger. This is how we become worried and afraid about something that isn’t as big as it seems or doesn’t exist at all.

But if we take God’s command at face value, there will never be a situation we worry over! Let that truth sink in! Romans 14:23 says that whatever is not of faith is sin – and worry is definitely not of faith! When we worry about things, we’re really telling God that we don’t believe He’s capable of helping us. Worry that produces fear is the spiritual conviction that one or more of the promises of God will fail us in our times of need. We’ll never come to the place of Divine Rest if we worry over every situation or circumstance of life. I’ve said this for years, and its medicine we all need to take daily: worry never solves the problems we worry about, SO WHY WORRY? Think about that for a moment. Worry over unpaid bills will never pay our bills. Worry over a deadly diagnosis of sickness will never bring healing to our bodies. Worry over unsaved or backslidden children, spouses or loved ones will never get them to the place of right relationship with God. So – don’t worry!
Worry about nothing. Pray about everything. That’s the message the Holy Spirit wants us to understand and apply. Whenever you’re tempted to worry, take that situation to the Lord, pleading your case according to Bible promises that apply to your situation (Isaiah 43:26). Prayer is an excellent way to protect your heart and mind. In Proverbs 4:23-27, we’re told to monitor our mouth, our eyes, and our feet. The perfect place to do that is in your prayer closet.
When you do, lift your hands in praise and thanksgiving – no matter how things look or how you feel. It’s what the Bible calls the sacrifice of praise
(Hebrews 13:15). Believe that God heard and answered your prayer, then talk and act accordingly.

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
Mark 11:22-24.

When you pray, believe you receive your answer. Not when you feel like it, or when you can see the answer before you. No! When you pray, believe! You do this by faith, ignoring the lies from your flesh, the world and from the devil, saying you don’t have what you’ve prayed for.
Once we’re told to worry about nothing but pray about everything, the Word of God goes on to tell us exactly what we should think on.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8.

Whatever thoughts come to you throughout the day, weigh them against this list here. If they don’t fit into any of these categories, cast those thoughts down with the words of your mouth (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). Resist any attempt by Satan to weasel his way into your mind with suggestive thoughts that go against God’s approved list here. Listen to how the Amplified Bible renders Philippians 4:8:

Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].

The Bible is a book full of simple but simultaneously profound truths like these. When you do what these verses tell you to do, it will bring a flood of Divine peace and rest that protects you from the inside out.
No matter what things look like now in your life, remember these truths. Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess Jesus as Lord
(Philippians 2:9-11). Every earthly kingdom will become the kingdom of our God (Revelation 11:15). As the world continues to fall apart in deception, fear, and confusion, keep looking up, because our redemption draws near
(Luke 21:25-28). Set your mind on things above, not on things of this life (Colossians 3:1-4). That’s called Divine Rest, and it is available whenever and wherever. We just need to know how to get there and stay there.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27.

Let’s be different than most everybody else. Let’s be like Jesus. Let’s live our lives in the light of God’s peace, and Divine rest. It is God’s plan for each of us, and it's what the world is searching for, even though they’re looking for it in all the wrong places!

MKMI now has a Rumble account, which is a conservative alternative to YouTube. Look for our MIKE KEYES MINISTRIES ACCOUNT when searching for us there. Some of our teaching videos have been added to our Rumble account, and more are being added going forward. Our Facebook and YouTube accounts are still active, as is our Twitter account, but always subject to the leading of the Holy Spirit as to whether we stay with these social media platforms. We are watching to determine if we are going to remain on certain platforms, depending upon how intrusive they become with censorship. An example of this is how Parler was de-certified in January. They’ve since restarted their platform, but we’re not using them yet. There are other conservative options being developed as well. We’ll monitor all of this and make Spirit-led decisions going forward.
THE RADICAL REMNANT
Since the devil’s COVID-19 Fear Virus has made our ministry travels much more difficult, the Lord has enabled me to maximize my time through the writing of more faith-building books. In 2020, we produced DETERMINED FAITH, which is being sold out wherever we make it available. Now for 2021, we have just produced THE RADICAL REMNANT, another book designed to inspire, instruct and exhort the true warriors for Christ Jesus in these last days.

Order your copy today. You can also do what many are doing - ordering additional copies for others they care about. Go online at www.mkmi.org to order, or call our Tucson office to place your order directly.
