  Ministry Highlight

Our Emeritus Officers

The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. I Timothy 3:1

For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus. I Timothy 3:13

Earlier this week, elder Sandy Spitz reflected on God's blessings through the leaders who have been used by God at this church over many years. His comments tell a story that includes the dedicated work of the men we honor today.

"Praise God for the humble, God-honoring efforts of God's people who came before us and those who faithfully work alongside us every day - I am reminded and encouraged as I consider one of our strategic initiatives is to be a "resource church" to others in the future because we have been so generously blessed by our God in the past. God has been saving His people through our people, in foreign missions, in numerous local ministries, on church land, in church buildings, through church programs, under circumstances, and over a history that brings us to where we are today, poised for more growth and the opportunity to contribute even more to God's Kingdom. God has blessed our church and allowed us to be in this place of growth and opportunity for even greater contribution, perhaps in part, because of the selfless contributions of so many that came before us and those that faithfully and tirelessly work together now."

Our officers emeriti have given countless hours in service over many years. Although they are stepping down from the many ministry tasks they have handled so well, we are not ready to be without their prayerful wisdom. We are grateful for their continued commitments to prayer and their willingness to share loving wisdom and the example of lives dedicated to following Christ. Thank you to each of them and to our Sovereign God.

Our current officers emeriti include elders Biff Bracy, Russ Epley, Jerry Jones, Sang Lee, Henry McClain, Norm Petty, Rob Randolph, Dr. Tim Roberts, and Chris Williams. Our deacons emeriti are Jerry Lindsey and Dale Yurkovich.

HOW TO PRAY FOR OUR CHURCH

General Leadership Project Group

This group will seek to put God's will for Christ Covenant into practice by leading the congregation to carry out the vision of disciples making disciples.

Please join us in praying for the General Leadership Project Group by praying for the following:

* For wisdom for the group as they seek to discern God's will through the various projects;

* For joyful hearts for the group in their work;

* For the outcome to glorify God.

 Additional Ways to Pray:

Supported Worker of the Week|
Jason & Jill Piteo

Jason is planting a PCA church in a strategic suburb of Cleveland, OH.

  • Pray for a new Bible study they have started which is focused on reaching their city with the gospel.
  • Pray for the Lord to bless their relationships with new neighbors and for opportunities to share the gospel with them.
  • Pray for new friends for all of them, especially their three oldest children who started at a new school.

Persecuted Church | Iran

Pray for believers in Iran where rising tensions with the US and government recognition of the spread of Christianity have increased the dangers of meeting together, preaching in the native language, or sharing their faith.

Unreached People Group | Bohra in India

There are a few Christian believers among the Bohra community, which is largely Muslim. To follow Jesus, a person in the Bohra community risks losing much that is important, including family, friends, status, and employment

Presbytery Church of the Week |
Hope Community Church

THIS WEEK

Member Directories are Here!

Church directories are available at the information desk after morning worship in the main lobby for members of Christ Covenant Church. Please take one per family. If we run out of directories today, please add your name and email to a list at the information desk to receive one. More are on the way!
As you look at the directory, please remember this is our first member directory in a very long time. We will be revising and making changes so that when we produce another directory, it will be current!

If you see the word "unsubscribed" under your name, it means you have asked to not receive emails from Christ Covenant, and your email has not been published in the directory.

If you have information or a picture you would like to change, please send all your changes to MemberUpdates@christcovenant.org.

On October 13, we will spotlight the role of shepherding in our congregation as we move toward a new shepherding model. On October 20, we will highlight some exciting developments around our Sunday school structure and the ways it will serve our overall vision for discipleship.
