Love in Action: Faith & Spiritual Growth

Will You...take take a Lenten journey through our Baptismal Covenant?

This holy season, you're invited to make a practice of exploring some of the most sacred promises we make in community - our baptismal promises. While the first three questions of our Baptismal Covenant are about belief, the last five promises commit us to action: "Will you...continue, persevere, proclaim, seek, serve, and strive?"

Together we will strive to discover how our promises help us to better know ourselves, our church, our world, and our loving God.

Will You? is a five week Community Lenten Practice -

Thursdays at 7:00 pm on Zoom*, continuing March 9!

Need a copy of the book? Copies will be available after all of this Sunday's services. All are welcome! Reach out to Hope (hope@ccpk.org) or Lee (leepuricelli@yahoo.com) with any questions.

Christ Church Outreach

Episcopal Relief and Development

For the few weeks, Christ Church will continue highlighting the work of Episcopal Relief and Development and raising funds to support their efforts to respond to disasters around the world. This is especially relevant at this time when they are working closely with partners on the ground in Turkey and Syria to provide relief to those devastated by the earthquake. You can donate to ERD using Realm and choosing “Outreach – ERD” as the fund.

Learn more about ERD and their great work around the world at https://www.episcopalrelief.org/.

Interested in helping to support refugees and migrants? Please contact our Deacon, Sara Thorne at sara@ccpk.org.

Coffee, Fellowship and YOU!

While we eagerly await the warm weather and return of Popsicles on the Lawn, we are happy to continue to host Coffee Hour in the Parish Hall after each Sunday 10:00 a.m. service. We are looking for a few good volunteers to serve as host and provide refreshments. A Sign Up sheet is posted in the Parish Hall.

Contact Kate Duchelle at kduchelle@gmail.com with any questions - or just talk to her at Coffee Hour!

Fourth Sundays Faith Formation Forums after the 10:00 am

The Faith & Spiritual Growth Ministry team announces the launch of Faith Formation Forums on the 4th Sunday of each month, following the 10am service in the Parish Hall. Over the course of the year, topics will include such subjects as art in sacred spaces, music in the church, the path of discipleship, and Godly Play (a way of telling Bible stories and wondering about them together), a tour of Christ Church’s buildings & grounds, and an intro to all the different elements on and around the altar area. We invite you to grow deeper in your faith and closer in your walk with God. Hope to see you there! (Childcare provided.)

The next RSJ Book Discussion will be April 30/May 1.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our last discussion of Horse, by Geraldine Brooks. For our next book, we will be reading The Trayvon Generation, by Elizabeth Alexander.

In March, 2022 a NY Times book review called The Trayvon Generation "a profound and lyrical meditation on race, class, justice and their intersections with art."

We hope you will join us on April 30 in person, or May 1 on Zoom, to discuss this small (less than 150 pages) but powerful book.

Bible Study, Sunday Afternoons at 4:00 p.m.

Join us as we continue to discuss Paul's letters to the Corinthians. It's always fun to read someone else’s mail and there certainly are a lot of interesting things Paul has to say! Come and discuss - no preparation is needed. If you have questions contact Lee Puricelli at leepuricelli@yahoo.com.

This Lent, ERD will reflect on the call to all Christians to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

Throughout the season, they will focus on the question, “Who Is My Neighbor?” with themes inspired by the Revised Common Lectionary readings for the Sundays in Lent.

This year's Lenten Meditations can be received as daily emails, downloaded in a PDF booklet or read on the ERD website. They will also invite readers to share their own responses to weekly reflection questions related to each theme.
