Greetings!
Ni Hao! This is Dana Woods, China Program Coordinator at AHH. I recently returned from a wonderful visit to the People's Republic of China and could wait no longer to share the exciting news about my latest journey!
The CCCWA presented us with a wonderful opportunity to participate in a one-to-one program with an orphanage located in Guangxi Province. In May, I had the opportunity to travel to China, make an official visit to the Civil Provincial Affairs office located in Nanning and was granted permission to visit the orphanage with which we have been matched.
While visiting, I was able to tour the orphanage, see the children, meet the Director, negotiate and sign a one year contract. This contract will allow our agency first opportunity to find families for the waiting children in their orphanage who have been diagnosed with special needs.

Through May 2014, A Helping Hand Adoption Agency will be responsible for assisting the orphanage in preparing medical and social files to allow the children to be placed on the shared list for matching. In return, our agency will be given at least 3 months to find homes for these children. Not only are we required to send manpower to get this done, we are also required to provide the financial means for file preparation. Furthermore, several children in the orphanage have been diagnosed with varying degrees of Cerebral Palsy and our agency has offered to provide rehabilitation equipment to assist in their therapy. While no further promises were made to the orphanage, my goal after visiting, is to request additional monies from our supporters for the following: (1) to provide nanny training, (2) to purchase news cribs, mattresses and bedding, (3) to deliver educational toys, (4) to raise funds for new playground equipment, (5) to send new clothing, and ultimately (5) to organize a Friendship Team to travel to China to paint, repair and most of all to nurture, hold and hug these sweet children!
In order for this program to be successful, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please watch for additional e-mails concerning ways you can assist in helping the fatherless!! |
