Ohio State faculty awards

Pei named senior member of NAI

Dehua Pei, professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, has been named a Senior Member by the National Academy of Inventors (NAI). This award recognizes academic inventors who are rising leaders in their field and have produced “technologies that have brought, or aspire to bring, real impact on the welfare of society,” according to the award notification.

Hu awarded NIH/NIDDK grant

The National Institute of Health and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases awarded a $945,000 three-year R01 grant to fund the study, “A Family-Dyad-Focused Diabetes Self-Management Intervention for African American Adults with Type 2 Diabetes.” The grant was awarded to Jie Hu, associate professor, Center for Healthy Aging, Self-Management and Complex Care in the Ohio State College of Nursing.

The China Gateway continues to partner with undergraduate admissions in the Office of Student Academic Excellence to host yield events for first-year admitted students. The events aim to give students insight into why Ohio State is the best place to start their college career in the United States.

China Gateway coordinates international nursing symposium

The China Gateway helped coordinate the Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital Ye Yuan International Nursing Symposium on March 23, bringing together experts on the topics of magnet hospitals and humanistic nursing practices. Close to 100 medical professionals attended the symposium either in person or online.
