Hello Old Donation!

We had a fantastic potluck last week with great food and conversations. Thank you for bringing your best! After the potluck, Bethanny and I gathered 24 youth with the help of mentors and parents to play laser tag. We all had a great time, and we were happy to see many of the youth inviting friends. 

Tonight, we have commission meetings with dinner at 6pm and meetings at 6:30pm. Tomorrow, our Bible study continues in Romans at 11am after our service of Holy Eucharist at 10am. SCOPE, our young adult and family group, will meet in Alfriend House for dinner and conversation from 5:30-7pm. 

On Saturday, we will have a visitation at 10am and the Celebration of Life for Earl Morris at 11am. We hope you'll join us this weekend to remember Earl. 

Bob+ is out of town for the next 10 days celebrating his granddaughter's graduation in Alabama. We will have a combined 10:30am service in the Great Hall along with our regular 8am and 5pm services. I will teach the adult forum at 9:30am discussing how the Gospel came to us in a particular context and how it continues to speak in each new context it encounters. 

Our Day School will also be selling tickets for their Art Auction held on Friday, May 17 this Sunday, following the 8am and 10:30am services. The Art Auction is a night of music, drinks, and hors d'oeuvres featuring student and adult artwork and gift baskets for sale to raise funds for their scholarship fund. Tickets are $15.

Beach Bags

Saturday, 9:00am in Canterbury. Help is NEEDED to assemble 165 bags of food for youth at our neighboring school, Pembroke Meadows Elementary. Contact Barbette with any questions.

Funeral for Earl Morris

This Saturday, 4 May. The family will greet visitors in the Great Hall at 10:00am. The funeral is 11:00am in the Church.

This event is for adults only. Tickets will be on sale THIS Sunday 5 May and 12 May after church services. Tickets are $15 each and include a beverage, appetizers, and one raffle ticket. Please e-mail us if you have any questions or to make a donation!

Faith Works Coalition

Saturday, 11 May - 8:00am-3:00pm

We need about 12 youth (MS and older) & 3 adults to assist with clean-up and junk removal. This is a great opportunity for our youth and can also count as service hours. Participants should wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and bring work gloves.

We also need someone willing to provide or purchase lunch for our volunteers!

Pentecost - 19 May

On Pentecost we read the Gospel simultaneously in many different languages. Which foreign language can you read aloud? Let us know so we can send you the proper translation. This is one of the highlights of our church year - not to be missed! Please be part of this special tradition for our 10:30am services.
