Happy “SPY WEDNESDAY” to all our Old Donation friends and family,
I learned something new today from an organist friend, Eric Dolch. Wednesday of Holy Week is known as “Spy Wednesday” based upon the gospel assigned to this day. Judas makes a deal with the Sanhedrin for 30 pieces of silver and agrees to SPY on Jesus to betray him at an appropriate time. Now YOU know more trivia of Holy Week.
Sunday’s Palm Sunday worship was full of energy and blessings. Sadly, our guest donkey/mini-colt was cancelled because of the high wind advisory, making it dangerous for moving a horse trailer from Pungo. But we had large turnouts for all services, and lots of palms! Also our Youth Group (EYC) had a great time as all 23 of them ‘broke out’ of their escape rooms. Lots of fun and new friends were part of the day.
Beginning tonight, we are in the home stretch toward Easter. Every night at 7:00 we have interesting and engaging worship designed to help us encounter God and experience the way of the Cross. The full schedule is below.
For children and families, don’t overlook tomorrow’s Maundy Thursday service of foot washing, Eucharist, and stripping of the later at 6:00pm, nor Easter Sunday at 9:15am in the Great Hall, which is when we will have Children’s Chapel. After that service at 10:30am we will have our Easter Egg Hunt with 3,000 eggs! Bring a basket or bag!
I know some of you will be traveling for Spring Break. Our Saturday night Vigil Service and Sunday morning services at 9:15 and 11:00 will be streamed. I pray all of you experience and are able to live the resurrection!
