As we bid farewell to 2023, we wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for your unwavering commitment to our mission of creating a litter-free Lake Tahoe.

This year, with your support, we deployed new cleaning technologies to combat litter accumulation and tackle aquatic invasive weeds. Together with our beach-cleaning BEBOT, these robots are changing the ways we can protect the Lake. 

Alongside you and our valued partners, we’re pushing the envelope on science and innovation, so Tahoe will continue to lead the globe in successful lake conservation. And it’s thanks to your commitment and generous support.

2023 Tahoe Blue Crew Highlights:

• 339 cleanups completed by over 80 Tahoe Blue Crews
• 10,133 pounds of litter picked up
• 40,500 plastic items collected
• 10,700 cigarette butts removed

2023 BEBOT Stats & Successes:

• 5 full beaches cleaned
• Over 10,000 pieces of litter collected (10x more under the sand than above)
• Prevented significant amount of tiny plastic trash from entering the Lake

2024 is looking brighter than ever as we expand our cleanup initiative to more public beaches throughout the Tahoe Basin. We’re targeting the most impacted areas to raise awareness about the need for trash mitigation and prevention of microplastics entering the Lake.
