Beyond the Vision Board: A Creative Plan to Achieve your Goals

Saturday, January 6 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM in the library


Ring in 2024 with a plan to make it fabulous!

In this workshop, we'll review and assess our goals for the coming year, and explore the steps to attain them. We'll use fun and creative methods to document our plans, including collage and mixed media. Appropriate for adults and young adults.

Herb of the Month Meet Up

Thursday, January 11 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM in the

Library


Join local herbalist, Hannah Sparks, on a journey to learn about herbs. During our meetings we will conduct herbal research to learn about the what, why, when, and how of herbs and at the end of class we will compare what we’ve learned to help deepen our understanding on the many ways in which to use herbs.

This is a class appropriate for all levels, no experience necessary.

Porcupines Don't Shoot their Quills, and Other Wildlife Rescue Lessons

Friday, January 12 from 3:30 - 5:00 PM Teen Room


Come join Jane Seeker (Newhouse), founder of Newhouse Wildlife Rescue, as she shares interesting facts about our local wildlife. Learn how you can help injured and orphaned wild animals in an emergency.

Each year, they help numerous sick, injured and orphaned wild animals heal and grow until they can be released back into the wild. Bigger, stronger and free!

There will be no live animals at this event, and the content is aimed at older children and adults looking to learn about wildlife rescue here in Massachusetts, and if needs be, in your own backyard.

Join Miss Brianna from Family Community Connection every Monday morning and have fun with music.

This is a chance to increase language and literacy through rhymes, repetitive movement and routine.

Pokemon Club

Thursday, January 4th from 4:00 - 5:00 PM

Join us on the first Thursday of each month at 4:00 PM. We'll have fun showing off our Pokémon cards, talk Pokémon and explore the world of Pokémon. No sign-up. Please drop in. Ages 6-12

Story Yoga

Wednesdays, 11:00-11:45 AM resuming Jan. 10

Join our instructor, Jet Wiksten in the Children's Room for a story and a gentle introduction to yoga. Each week we'll have a different theme. We'll do breath work and mat work.

Drop in and bring your yoga mat. Meant for children aged newborn - six and their caregivers.


Have you met and hung out with Lulu?

Tuesdays beginning Jan. 9 from 4 - 5 PM

Lulu is a sweet and lovable therapy dog. Come talk to her, tell her a story or just relax with her. Contact the library to sign up or drop in.


Storytime Crafts Thursdays

Thursdays 10:30 AM in the Children's Room

Join Miss Kailey from Family Community Connection for a fun Storytime. Listen to a story and make a craft. Social skills, communication, literacy and fine motor control.

Put your creativity to the test. Best for ages 3-6 but all ages welcome

The Annual Holiday Basket Fundraiser

was a great success!

5 lucky winners took home beautiful baskets and almost $1,100 was raised for the Friends of the Library. Our best holiday fundraiser yet.


The Friends would like to thank everyone who participated.


All monies raised from these sales go directly to fund programming for all ages, activities, craft kits, museum passes and the Library of Things.

Other happenings

Greet the Day Yoga Series in conjunction with the Sage Center

Wednesdays at 9:00 AM at the Town Annex

This weekly yoga series is perfect for beginners to the more experienced practitioner. We will focus on slow, mindful movement to create a sense of calm and stability in the body and mind.

Please bring a mat, beach towel and two yoga blocks. $5/per class paid directly to Sharon Gordon by cash or check. Drop-in, take one, some or all the classes.


Who Done It? Mystery Book Group

Thursday, January 11th at Noon

Are you a Mystery fan? Ready to find out who done it?
