Welcome to E-NEWS
When we started E-NEWS over seven years ago, most people still read their e-mails on desktop or laptop computers . . . now the majority read them on mobile devices. The new format, which we will continue to modify, should be easier to read on all devices. Thank you for your patience and understanding! Please send your articles and photos to info@diomil.org. Let's share our stories with each other! Thank you.
May you all have a blessed and safe Memorial Day Weekend, as we honor the men and women who served our country in the military. Perhaps the greatest honor we can pay them is to pray and work for PEACE.

St. Mark's

This past Sunday, St. Mark's, Milwaukee celebrated the ministries of The Rev. Michelle
and John Hickey as each marked a milestone anniversary:
the fifteenth anniversary of Michelle's ordination
to the diaconate and the tenth anniversary of John's ordination to t
he priesthood. A beautifully framed photograph of St. Mark's Resurrection Window, taken by parishioner and photographer Mark F. Heffron was presented to each of them.
Before her ordination, Michelle served for many yea
rs as executive director of The Gath
ering, Inc., the largest meal program in southeastern Wisconsin. As a deacon,

Michelle has continued to serve the people who live on the margins of society -- the poor, the hungry, the homeless.
John Hickey has served a number of parishes in the Diocese of Milwaukee, prior to St. Mark's. Both Michelle and John have served in the Diocese of Milwaukee throughout their years in the ordained ministry.
Let us give thanks for their ministries in
our midst!

St. Aidan's, Hartford retires mortgage!
Happy Days!! St. Aidan's, Hartford recently gathered for a "burning the parish mortgage" celebration. With matching funds from the diocese through the Department of Congregational Development, the parish reached its capital campaign goal, enabling the mortgage to be paid off. Surely this is a cause for all members of the diocese to celebrate, as one of our parishes moves from debt into mission . . .

Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee

Forest Home Cemetery offers tours
For some 160 years, St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Milwaukee provided the oversight for Forest Home Cemetery. While the cemetery is now a stand-alone nonprofit, its bylaws require that 25% of its board members be members of St. Paul's which ensures the continuation of a strong connection between the parish and the cemetery.
Forest Home Cemetery was the subject of a
documentary on PBS recently and the cemetery offers tours during the summer months.

May 28, 2017 Trinity, Mineral Point
Gracious God, we hold in prayer today the people of Trinity Church, Mineral Point, and Trinity Church, Platteville. Bless and guide them as they grow in ministry and partnership. May they continue to follow the call of the Trinity, gathering to support and promote the journey of spiritual growth and the furtherance of your kingdom. Be with them now and always, O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
