Heads up to all members and friends of the club! There have been a number of thefts on boats reported in the Clear Lake-Galveston area over the past few months. Most have been electronics stolen from the exterior of boats but recently the Reel Bounty had a number of their rods and reels taken from the interior. Even though your boat may be in a secure area it can still be easily accessed by water. Please keep an eye out and make sure all is secure.

The Learning Curve

This time of year, I always wonder what the season is going to bring that is different from the past few.....every year seems to bring something different than the previous, from the weed everywhere 3 and 4 seasons ago to the lack of the last couple years, seemingly bigger than average blues 2 years ago, lack of dolphin and tough summer tuna bite last year, etc. Tom Hilton sent out an email to his subscribers recently summarizing what some of the dock talk was before that, observing that the loop current is very far south compared to the norm. It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, it will have on our fishing. The guys over in Louisiana sure seem to be having a well above average season on jumbo yellowfin.....so who knows what we'll see!
