Our Big Halloween Event is Right Around the Corner!
There's only two weeks left before our Halloween Trick-or-Treat and Movie Night at Coral Reef Park!

The fun starts at 6 pm, when little ones can fill their goodie sacks with candy and snacks as they trick-or-treat within the safety of the park. Afterwards, the whole family can watch a special showing of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' on the park's big screen while enjoying a tasty meal from local food vendors.

And don't forget to dress up, because everyone wearing a costume will receive a raffle ticket and have the chance to win a great prize. Whether you're planning to come as something scary, glamorous, or heroic, we can't wait to see you there!

Good Vibes & Great Ideas at our Parks Master Plan Workshop
Thank you to everyone who came out for our second Parks Master Plan Workshop, and thank you to Palmer Trinity School for hosting the event! This was another great chance for residents to share their dreams and wishes for our Village parks with both our Parks & Recreation staff and the design firm who will oversee the additions and improvements. In our next Master Plan Workshop later this year, residents will get to see how their suggestions might be implemented and give even more feedback before the renovations begin. Together, we can ensure that Palmetto Bay's parks remain the crown jewels of our Village!
Road Construction on Old Cutler Road Begins This Month
Please be aware that construction is slated to begin this month at the intersection of Old Cutler Road and SW 152 Street and at the intersection of Old Cutler Road and SW 184 Street. The work will include adding roundabouts, roadway reconstruction, new sidewalks, new curbs and gutters, drainage installation, adding street lighting, and paving. The projects are expected to be completed by September 2023. We will provide new updates as we receive them from Miami-Dade County.

If you have any questions, please call our Public Services Department at 305-969-5011.
Freebee Service Prioritizes Elderly & Disabled; Removes Age Restriction
Palmetto Bay's complimentary Freebee service can pick you up and take you anywhere within the Village, with free door-to-door transportation in our environment-friendly electric vehicle!

The age limit to request to ride was previously raised to 18 and over. However, that requirement has been waived. The service will continue to prioritize ride requests for the elderly and the disabled.

Renovations of Palmetto Bay Park's Trails & Amenities
As announced during our recent Budget Hearings, funding has been approved for a full renovation of the walking trails in Palmetto Bay Park. Work will begin later this year to repair or replace all sections of the trail that have been damaged by tree roots or other issues. The renovation project will also include the park's playground and basketball courts, making Palmetto Bay Park an even better place to walk, jog, relax, and play!

$400,000 has been earmarked for the renovations, with half of the money provided by a matching government grant.

Susan K. Feldman to Showcase at Perrine Community House
Artist Susan K. Feldman is a native of Ohio, but she’s lived in the Miami area for 54 years. In her artist statement, Susan writes “My work has always reflected a love of color and a desire to paint a variety of subject matters.” South Florida’s lush landscapes provide her with plenty of inspiration, and Fairchild Tropical Gardens is a favorite place to generate ideas.

Over the years, Susan has created art with nearly every medium including pen and ink, watercolor, and oils. “My style ranges from impressionistic to the abstract,” Susan writes, "and many of my works draw on my imagination and love of whimsy.”

Susan’s artistic portfolio includes a broad range of subjects from portraits to landscapes to paintings of animals, but regardless of the subject matter, each piece has a vibrance that immediately grabs the viewer’s attention. Susan writes, “While I get a great deal of pleasure from executing a painting, the real joy comes from seeing how others respond to my work.”
