First Friday Breakfast

Thank you to all our First Friday Breakfast Friends who joined us at the Egg on July 7th. We had 25+ people join us that day! I guess that time works best for all of us!  What a wonderful time together and getting to know each other around a table.

Get on Board with Us!

We are searching for people with a heart for serving older adults by utilizing talents and skills as a member of our board. Whether you are a current volunteer ready to step into a new role, a community member who feels strongly about senior advocacy, or someone with a strategic mind, we would love to hear from you. If you are interested, please email seniorslkn@gmail.com or call 980-689-1843. Come make an impact with us!

Adopt- A- Grandfriend Program 2023-2024

The Grandfriend program seeks to pair Davidson College students with mature adults within the Lake Norman community to create inter-generational friendships, This is a long running and successful program that follows the school calendar and will resume in the fall. Group events are completely optional and just an opportunity for fun and fellowship with other grandfriends. The real idea is for grandfriends to connect on their own for conversations and/or activities they both enjoy . Call each other up for coffee, a Wildcat game, art show or performance or even to share a home cooked meal together. It’s still a fun and easy way to be a mentor and a friend to someone!

Students and grandfriends will be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire to help match participants with friends of similar interest For more information, contact dpr@townofdavidson.org or 704-892-3349 or sign up here and we will contact you in the fall. Registration is ongoing and welcome anytime.

Just for Laughs

The elderly grandma always talked to the hens whenever she fed them. One day, her grandson asked, "Grandma, why do you talk to the chickens?"

"I'm just trying to egg them on."
