RHD's Main Line Wine Gala, RHD’s signature fundraising event, is back this year on Thursday, October 12th at Appleford Estate, 770 Mt. Moro Rd., Villanova, PA. Celebrating the gala’s tenth year, the 2023 theme is “Travel with Us Through a Decade of Difference.” This year’s gala will highlight the growing impact of three RHD programs: Center for Creative Works (CCW), United Peers, and Stepping Stones. Operating from both Wynnewood and Philadelphia, CCW serves as a dynamic hub fostering artistic expression and compassionate, esteem-boosting activities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. United Peers, modeled after other successful Certified Peer Specialist-run programs, has expanded and enriched their offerings, serving more participants than ever. Stepping Stones is a long-term partial hospital program serving children ages 6 to 11 in the Philadelphia area. In addition to showcasing RHD's impactful programs, this year's celebration will also recognize indispensable champions, contributors, and sponsors. RHD's Wister Street’s annual Friends and Family event is always a joyous occasion. On Friday, August 25th, this year’s gathering took place outside of the program’s headquarters in the historic Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia. Everyone enjoyed delicious BBQ, great music, dancing, and a bounce house and face painting booth for the children. This already special day became even more memorable when the entire crowd congregated to surprise program director Nicole Brown with a celebration acknowledging her 25 years at RHD.

This year, RHD’s Employee Resource Network launched its first-ever Summer Blaze Poetry Series. From June through August, the series shared videos featuring a member of the RHD staff reading their own self-crafted poems or a renowned poet presenting work that resonated with RHD's core values. It was a refreshing blend of creativity and expression, adding a touch of artistry to the warm season. Click here to check out all the videos.
