The Main Line Wine Gala Celebrates

its 10th Anniversary!

RHD's Main Line Wine Gala is back this year on Thursday, October 12th at Appleford Estate, 770 Mt. Moro Rd., Villanova, PA. Celebrating its tenth year, the theme of this year’s signature fundraising event is “Travel with Us Through a Decade of Difference," and promises to take attendees on a journey through the past ten years. Guests will revisit past galas and witness the growth of our organization. This festive evening will feature fine wines, curated by winemaker Antton Bastianaggi of Edmond de Rothschild Heritage (www.edmondderothschildheritage.com/en/). The event will highlight the impact of three RHD programs: Center for Creative Works, United Peers, and Stepping Stones. Join us in commemorating the difference RHD has made for the individuals we serve and our communities. For more information, visit www.mainlinewinegala.org.

Making a Real Impact in Crisis Prevention and Intervention

Today, we still see unfounded and unfair misconceptions and bias toward individuals diagnosed with an intellectual and/or developmental disability. RHD is dedicated to challenging these misguided prejudices and breaking down barriers to empower participants to achieve their full potential. RHD created a program to address these prejudices. On July 18th, Allegheny County service providers, social workers, and others gathered at the DoubleTree Hotel in Monroeville, PA, to launch PA START Allegheny. This exceptional crisis prevention and intervention program provides round-the-clock assistance to individuals aged 6 and older with IDD and autism spectrum disorder, along with co-occurring behavioral health needs.

Beginning in 2013, Amanda Janulis and Susan Hunt, both corporate clinical directors at RHD, served on a team along with DBT experts to tailor this therapy to suit the unique needs of our staff and participants.
