A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT & CEO

Dani_website.jpg

Greetings,

Welcome to a new year, and along with it many ambitious goals and of course the 2024 Legislative Session. From an economic development lens, we at AREA continue to express the critical need for investment in economic development marketing, site readiness and public infrastructure, speed to market for prospective and existing business, and of course, talent development, attraction and retention.

Our business development team has already been on the road twice this month, joining our friends at the New Mexico Partnership on a visit to southern California to engage with consultants, businesses and a number of consulate and trade offices; and another to an exclusive interaction with seven top national site selection consultants.

We have also had the great fortune to announce our 2024 AREA Board of Directors which includes many long-time leaders but also some new faces that are eager to contribute to our regional efforts in economic development. Please be sure to review the list and congratulate and than them for their service!

With gratitude,

AREA Announces its 2024 Board of Directors with Several New Faces

At the start of its third year of a 5-year strategic plan, AREA is welcoming new leadership to its board and enjoying continued support of its critical initiatives by many long-time organizational leaders.

Exciting new additions to the AREA Board in 2024 include Ruth Huning-Gonzales, Manager of Huning LLC, a family business in the Valencia County area that has long been a supporter of AREA but has not previously served in a leadership role with the organization. Ben Gardner of Dekker/Perich/Sabatini and Adam Leyba of Klinger Constructors, LLC have joined the AREA Board on behalf of their organizations which have long held leadership positions with the nonprofit.
