*NO* OPEN NEWBURY THIS WEEK
This summer Newbury Street has been closed to motor vehicle traffic on Sundays through September 8, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Note that Open Newbury will NOT be happening this coming Sunday, September 1. Parking will be allowed. Note that since it is move-in day for many college students, parking in the Back Bay may be affected. The final day of Open Newbury will be Sunday, September 8. Please plan your travel to church accordingly. For more information, visit https://www.boston.gov/departments/transportation/open-newbury-street.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 8
A Congregational Meeting has been called for Sunday, September 8, 2024, immediately following the service to vote on extending the term of our half-time designated Associate Pastor by one year starting on September 15, 2024, and to approve the terms of call in the Call Agreement (UCC) for Rev. Joshua L. Lazard, and to vote on a change of the Bylaws to allow affiliate members to serve as Deacons.
WELCOME BACK SUNDAY ON SEPTEMBER 15! REV. ROB RETURNS & ALL-CHURCH POTLUCK AFTER WORSHIP
We will celebrate “welcome back” Sunday on September 15, welcoming Rev. Rob back from sabbatical, and launching a new “year” for everyone, including children and youth. Please bring a plant-based dish to share and come even if you can’t bring anything.
WELCOME CHILDREN & YOUTH!!
Welcome to all children, youth, and families—those we know already and those who are here for the first time. Our Godly Play and other classes don’t meet during the summer, but the nursery is open most Sundays. Families are welcome to drop off young ones in the nursery or to stick around or come and go as you feel comfortable. If you need help finding us, please ask an usher. We share CYCE info regularly via email, so please email Rev. Kate at kate.carlisle@cotcbos.org if you want to receive updates!
SAVE THE DATE: ALL-CHURCH RETREAT!
This year’s all-church retreat will be on Saturday, October 26, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, at Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham. Registration information will be provided by mid-September. Come one, come all!
CHOIR & MUSIC MINISTRY
Our amazing all-volunteer choir, led by our Minister of Music Tom Handel, is off for the summer. If you would like to join or play an instrument, please email Tom at thomasghandel@gmail.com.
