Give Love, Give Hope, Give Kids a Healthy Smile!

To TeamSmile Stakeholders:

As we enter the holiday season and reflect on 2022, we take pride in TeamSmile’s ability to adapt and evolve in a challenging environment to accomplish our mission to provide a high quality dental experience and promote ongoing dental care to children in need. During the peak of the COVID pandemic, TeamSmile was not able to provide traditional onsite dental service programs with professional and amateur sports teams so developed and rolled out virtual oral health education presentation and dental product distribution in order to serve as many children as possible. While onsite programs came back online in 2021, continued challenges and the lingering effects of the pandemic required a measured return to normal. Similarly, our sponsors, volunteer dentists and hygienists, donors, staff and constituent communities were facing, and continue to face, their own business and personal challenges created by the pandemic. Collectively, however, everyone understood that the need to provide dental care to children in need was as great as ever and we all needed to get back to work.

In 2022, we completed 26 onsite programs and continued to provide virtual oral health education. TeamSmile provided dental services and oral health education to almost 4,300 children with dental care services provided exceeding $1.4 million in value. This almost doubled 2021 performance. We are grateful for the persistence and determination demonstrated by our sponsors, dentists, hygienists, donors, volunteers and TeamSmile staff to face these challenges with passion and creativity. Like in sports, accomplishing our mission is a team effort and it could not be done without all of you. Thank you for the continued support of TeamSmile and sacrifices made to serve children in need.

Wrapping up the Year

We finished our last five programs for 2022, with the Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, Colorado Rockies, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Skyhawks. Through these five programs, TeamSmile was able to provide dental care to over 650 children and educate over 690, providing dental treatment and oral health education valued over $280,000. This brought our year end totals to over $1.4 million in dental care and oral health education, helping over 4,300 children all over the country. We want to thank our 2022 program sponsors and all of our 2,400 volunteers that made our programs so successful! We greatly appreciate the support from everyone across the country.
