Spotlight on Instructional Aides
Did you know our biggest investment as a PTSA is funding more Instructional Aides to help our teachers and students? Here are just some of the things they have been doing in the first few weeks of school:

helping teachers grade homework • creating math quizzes and tests for students in MS Forms • creating surveys for teachers in MS Forms • merging multiple .pdf files to make an e-book for students • setting up FOSSweb for teachers • taking attendance • creating .pdf math homework files • creating electronic class yearbooks • administering STAR Reading tests • helping students with homework questions • helping teachers/students with technical questions/issues • playing games with students while waiting for teachers to join or as part of math class • hosting/scheduling virtual recesses • monitoring class meetings/office hours

Monthly Staff Appreciation!
This year Cherry Crest families can show appreciation for our outstanding teachers and staff by contributing to care packages for the Teachers, Specialists and General School Assistants (GSAs) who work closely with our children. Each month PTSA will deliver care packages to one Grade level. View the full schedule on the PTSA website to see when and how your family can help carry on this wonderful tradition of gratitude.

Microsoft Employee Corporate Gift Matching
Microsoft parents have shared that the company's 2020 giving campaign kicks off October 1st and we’d love it if you would consider donating to and requesting gift matching for the Cherry Crest Parent Teacher Association.

You can request matching for donations or volunteer hours through Microsoft!
Your donations will go directly to support school-related programs and additional specialist staff that support our teachers and students. Every dollar helps in this unusual and challenging school year!
Unleash Student Artistic Talent in Reflections 2020/21!
Reflections is a nationally acclaimed PTSA student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on the 2020/21 theme “I matter because.”

Entries will be collected virtually on Monday, November 16, 2020.

Volunteer Opportunities
Chairs are needed for Kindergarten and 4th grade. CE chairs work with teachers to plan and organize enrichment or Curriculum Enhancement activities for students. Generally, ideas are teacher-driven, with financial and logistical support from the PTSA.

2 hours/month planning, plus additional time helping on the day of each event.

Curriculum Enhancement Chairs
PTSA Membership Chair
The membership chair is responsible for maintaining the Membership planet database as well as membership recruitment (advertising and outreach to encourage parents to join the Cherry Crest PTSA). This is a great role to do with a friend.

Managing/maintaining Member Planet: 1-2 hours/month. Recruitment: Depends on volunteers time and creativity!
