GBCC HEALTH & WELLNESS EXPO

Save the date for the second annual GBCC Health and Wellness Expo. This year's event, open to both GBCC Members and the general public, will focus on food insecurity and will feature 40 exhibitors from a variety of health and wellness backgrounds.

The The Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce GBCC-NextExecs Group had a wonderful February meeting! Chuck Williams from the Scotland AME Zion Church spoke to the group about their upcoming Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival.

The Great Resignation was a “Great Shedding” of workers age 50+ says Gary Officer, president and CEO of the Center for Workforce Inclusion. Some were laid off early in the pandemic, even as their employers received U.S. Paycheck Protection Program loans. “And when the time came for them to come back to work, there was no work to come back to.”

In her Industry Week article, Laura Putre reports that “two-thirds of people who lost their jobs during the pandemic were re-employed; however, when you break down those numbers to workers 50+, only 30% were re-employed.”
