IKEA Showcases New Collection and Sustainability Efforts at Community Mixer

IKEA recently hosted an exclusive Community Mixer, revealing a vibrant new collection and spotlighting its sustainability initiatives. Gina Lee-Mink of American Illuminations, Inc. representing the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, attended the event and highlighted the unique aspects of the gathering.


The mixer featured a collaboration with Nigel Xavier, winner of Netflix's "Next in Fashion," who designed an armchair using upcycled IKEA fabrics. Additionally, IKEA's partnership with the Pan African Film & Art Festival (PAFF) was on display, with artists presenting IKEA furniture transformed through colorful artistry. Read More...

State Legislators Set to Address Torrance Area Businesses at 'State of the State' Event

The Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the upcoming "State of the State" event, which will take place on Friday, May 3rd, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Torrance. This event will feature key updates from state legislators. State Senator Ben Allen from the 24th District, State Senator Steven Bradford from the 35th District, and Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi from the 66th District will discuss current legislative efforts and their impact on Torrance businesses. This gathering offers a valuable opportunity for business leaders to gain insights directly from their state representatives.

Chamber to Host the Torrance Fire Department Community Update and Awards Luncheon

Join us for the Torrance Fire Department Community Update and Awards Luncheon on May 8th, starting at 11:15 am, at the Torrance Memorial Hoffman Health Conference Center. This event will feature City of Torrance Fire Chief David Dumais, who will offer the Torrance Area business community exclusive insights into the latest department developments and trends that are shaping the South Bay.


Honorees at the event include Kevin Millikan, Assistant Fire Chief, and Michelle Masak, Senior Administrative Analyst, both receiving the Fire Chief's Award/Award of Excellence. The Special Recognition Award will be presented to Scott Diekmann, Fire Captain, and Christopher Morrow, Assistant Fire Chief. Steven Odien, Firefighter, will be honored as Firefighter of the Year, and Neli Mileva, Policy and Resources Specialist, as Civilian Employee of the Year. The TFD Pipes and Drums will be recognized as Fire Company of the Year. Nathan Norris, Firefighter, will receive the Award of Merit.
