The production crew has moved on to their next location and

Borrego Springs is back in summer mode.

Before they left I was invited to have lunch at their Air Ranch home base and meet many of the people involved. This was a first class operation by just the looks of the equipment, but the people were even better.

Everyone was so nice and couldn't thank me enough for helping them this past year and would not stop saying how then loved filming in Borrego Springs. From the local businesses, hotels, State Park they said the experience was one of the best ever! They apologized profoundly for the road closures and said the people in Borrego are so friendly and understanding. Many of these same people will be back in the future for another large production (2025) and they are looking forward to it.

My heartfelt thanks goes out to the community of Borrego Springs, you showed the "out of towners" what hospitality is and made many of them feel like this was home. "Thank you!"

Palm Canyon Hotel and RV Resort closed for the summer

Rams Hill Golf Club Golf Course is closed for the summer

Rams Hill restaurant is open M-F from 7:00 am until 2:00 pm through June

The Springs' RV Office and Golf Pro Shop will be open from 7 AM to 3 PM daily.

Swimming Lessons at the Borrego Springs High School Pool will not be available this summer. The pool is closed for repairs and may not open for the 2024 Summer Swim Season

Annual Hazardous Waste Removal

Anyone 65 years of age and older is provided one annual free home pickup of hazardous waste from the “Our One Earth” SD County Hazardous Waste Center at 877-713-2784 (if using a landline dial 1). For more information about what hazardous waste is, brochures are available at the Chamber.

The Hoberg Resort/ Hoberg Hotel, now THE PALMS AT INDIANHEAD was a major

playground and get away for numerous stars from the Hollywood which include: CHARLES

LAUGHTON, ELSA LANCHESTER, MARILYN MONROE, RAYMOND BURR, LON CHANEY JR., BING CROSBY, CLARK CABLE, and many more. This was a great far away place from the studio bosses so that they could actually relax and not worry about being called back to Hollywood at a moment’s notice. It was active from 1948 to 1954.
