Small Business Season

From November 1st to December 31st, we're highlighting our local businesses to the fullest. While we always celebrate Small Business Season around here, we want to make this year extra special.

If you have any upcoming sales or events during this time, please send them our way. We would love to showcase your business to our community!

On November 10th and 11th, 'Save a Buck & Spend Some Doe' kicked off the month with a bang. Maria, one of our team members, had the chance to visit the participating businesses and witness the amazing crafts, deals, and much more that were available. We're thrilled to report that the event was a resounding success, and we're already looking forward to next year's festivities.

In November, we introduced a new initiative to encourage people to visit local businesses from November 10-20. Despite a few setbacks with locating the buck figurines, the program was a success! We leveraged this opportunity to distribute Chamber Bucks during Small Business Season, ultimately contributing to keeping dollars local.

In partnership with the City, we decided to move the Parade of Lights to the same night as the Lighting Ceremony of Veteran's Park this year. The parade had over 20 participants and was judged by James Jensen, Nicki Brockopp, and Tim Ost. The judges had the difficult task of choosing the winners for "Best Lights," "Best Theme," and "Overall Winner."

We would like to congratulate Valley City Public Works Electrical Team for winning the "Best Lights" award. Handy Home & Hardware was awarded "Best Theme." The "Overall Winner" of the competition was ACB Construction, who received the coveted traveling trophy. Thank you to all the participants who made this possible. All the floats were incredible!

The parade was not the only thing happening on Saturday night. At the Chamber office, we welcomed people into Santa's Workshop to work on crafts, coloring, and letters to Santa. We also released our Small Business Saturday Coloring Contest. This runs through December 11, so be sure to come by the Chamber office to grab a coloring page for you kids!

The Parade of Lights was a joyful occasion, with Santa making a special appearance in town. After the parade, there was an opportunity to take photos with Santa at Diane J Hochhalter Studio.

Kudos to the city for an outstanding job on the Lighting Ceremony at Veteran's Park. Not only was the event itself impressive, but they also added a "Photo Opportunity" for attendees to enjoy. The Big Wreath was a particularly delightful touch to the park.

We are thrilled to reveal that the winning name of our "Name the Event" contest is "Lights and Sights on Central". This name will capture all the remarkable features of our event, including the Parade of Lights, Lighting of Veterans Park, and any future events we may add.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in these

events in any capacity. We couldn't have done it without your support!
