During a recent Chamber board meeting, there was a vote of support for the renewal of the public health millage on the runoff ballot.
There was a lengthy discussion. Among the points considered were: neither our businesses nor our community can prosper if we don’t provide this funding; the renewal of this longstanding tax helps the most needy, which in turn helps our community and our businesses. Board Retreat Planning Underway
Each year, our board of directors gathers together for a full day planning retreat. Detailed discussions take place in advance. This week 2023 Chairman David Landry with Carver Darden and CEO Lacey Osborne met via teams with our facilitator Christel Slaughter of SSA Consultants and 2024 Chairman-elect Chris Abadie with Stirling. Board members leave the day-long retreat on November 30 ready to get to work on plans and programs decided upon for the year ahead—and ready for the Installation and Awards Luncheon set for January 17 at The Greystone.
