Mental Health Matters Topic of Live Better Coffee and Learn
May is Mental Health Awareness Month
“Mental Health Matters” was the topic of the Live Better Committee’s first of three Coffee & Learn educational programs this year. Hosted and held at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, the featured speaker was Monique Gregoire with NAMI St. Tammany. As outreach specialist with a leading mental health organization on the Northshore, Monique spoke about importance of knowing and recognizing symptoms of mental health issues; understanding its impact on family, friends and coworkers; and knowing available community resources.
Don Mueller, a St. Tammany Outreach for the Prevention of Suicide volunteer, gave an inspiring personal testimonial following Monique’s presentation. He emphasized the importance of knowing how to navigate available programs and appreciated the understanding and support of his employer and colleagues. Thank you to our speakers and host.
