Happy New Year—Wishing you a year filled with prosperity and success!
St. Tammany Goes Big at Washington Mardi Gras 2024

Our Chamber will have a strong presence during the 2024 Washington D.C. Mardi Gras set for January 25-28. Celebrating 75 years, Washington Mardi Gras began as a demonstration of the spirit of Mardi Gras in the Nation's capitol, and has grown into a celebration of Louisiana, its politics and its people.

The business highlight of the four-day event is the annual Economic Development Luncheon. As co-host with the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, St. Tammany will be spotlighted before statewide elected and business leaders. Our Task Force led by Kelly Rabalais of St. Tammany Health System planned a St. Tammany reception themed "It's a Shore Thing." Special thanks to the following sponsors: St. Tammany Parish Government, Pat Gallagher's Rest Awhile, Money Hill Golf & Country Club, Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Company, Acquistapace's, and Kyle Associates.

Part of the goals we set as a chamber in 2023 was to establish a larger presence for St. Tammany Parish similar to what other parishes have done over the years. As the fourth-largest parish with significant business representation, 2024 will be our turn to shine! Click here to read the nola.com article published this week.

Included among them are measures that change the way the state calculates minimum child-support payments; implements standards for pet insurers; restricts options for gender-affirming health care available to transgender youth; and set rules around police reporting of traffic stop data.
