Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce Board President Jim Franceus announced today that CEO Jerry Wheeler has accepted the position of President/CEO of the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce in Huntington Beach, CA. Wheeler's new position will begin on June 1st. Franceus indicated that the search for a new CEO will begin immediately.
Wheeler began his tenure with the Lake Oswego Chamber in September of 2004 and has been considered a strong community builder. Wheeler's emphasis on economic development has been a key component of the relationship the Chamber continues to foster with the City of Lake Oswego in its efforts to encourage and sustain a thriving business community. Under the chamber board's oversight, the executive committee will provide leadership for the chamber and its daily operations until a new CEO is chosen. The Lake Oswego Chamber (www.lake-oswego.com) is one of the largest in the state with almost 600 members. Its mission is to actively promote business success in partnership with the Lake Oswego community.
