The City of Danville and Pittsylvania County have proclaimed June 1-5, 2015 as "Business Appreciation Week." Business Appreciation Week will celebrate our local businesses and manufacturers for choosing to locate and grow here. We express our appreciation to the companies that diversify and enhance the economy of Danville and Pittsylvania County.
There are almost 3,000 employers in Danville and Pittsylvania County that provide jobs, contribute to our tax base, and support the amenities that improve our quality of life. With more than 50,000 people who are in our region's civilian labor force, Danville and Pittsylvania County have a wide range of businesses including manufacturing, healthcare, retail, professional services, food services and restaurants, construction, finance, administrative, education, government, accommodations, recreation and entertainment, information technology, and agriculture.
A variety of activities and events are being planned for this week. We hope you will participate as your schedule permits. (See below.)
The 2015 Business Appreciation Week is being sponsored by the City of Danville Economic Development, Pittsylvania County, and the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce.

Reservations Required for
'Speed Networking' on June 11 at 2 Witches Winery & Brewing
The Chamber will hold a Speed Networking event on June 11 at 4 p.m. at 2 Witches Winery & Brewing Company (209 Trade Street, Danville). Not familiar with the concept of speed networking? Speed networking is based on a similar model to 'speed dating,' but it's designed for professionals to meet other professionals in four-minute increments with the goal of maximum exposure in a minimum time commitment. After the speed networking, participants are welcome to stay for additional networking during a social hour, with cash bar available, to reconnect, collect additional business cards, and enjoy light refreshments.
There is a $20 registration fee for Chamber members and $25 for non-members. Contact information of all participants will be provided to Chamber member attendees for post-event follow-up.
Seating is limited. Registrations are limited to 30 people and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis with no direct competitors permitted. Full attendance is vital for the success of this event. The registration fee will not be refunded after June 5.
Contact the Chamber for more information at 434-836-6990 or email
llawson@dpchamber.org to register. More details are available
here.
